Yeah, instead they have floor mats that will kill you.
I'm not being a fanboy here -- both issues were overblown. The overall point is that neither should change your opinion of Nissan/Toyota/etc, really.
edit: also if you can overheat the 370 while driving on the street then you pretty much are driving it as hard as you would be on the track and the point still stands.
