OEM CMC / CSC that have not failed
Hey all,
Most of us know about the failing CSC and/or CMC issues from the factory, and many have already replaced the CSC. I wanted to know how many of you who have 60k+ miles and are still on the OEM CSC/CMC. Even though there's a seemingly high failure rate on them, I wonder if there's a percentage of people who have gone over 80-100k+ miles without any issues. Currently, I'm close to 60k miles without failure although there are random days of every year where the CMC acts up on me when the weather changes dramatically.

I'm hoping this works. I bleed my clutch every time I bleed the brakes which is at least once a year. Most of the time the fluid is completely clean but I have seen a little bit of black dust in the fluid at times.

I have to agree. As soon as the master cylinder fluid darkens even slightly I withdraw it with a vacuum pump and replace with fresh DOT4. Quick and easy with good results so far. Sometimes it takes 8 months for this to happen and other times 8 weeks.

I’ve been flushing/changing fluid once a year with Nissan GTR brake fluid. This is the recommended clutch fluid for Nismo models. No problems so far but it only takes one summer for the fluid to darken.

Going on 81K and still no issues... unless it was replaced before I bought the car, but I doubt it.

I'm relieved to hear there are people going 80k+ with no issues. Seems like the plan is frequent clutch fluid changes which makes sense.

I just replaced my clutch and installed the CMAK kit @ 85,000 miles. I did it as a preventative measure, but when I got the old clutch assembly out it really didn't look that bad. I just didn't want to get stranded if it should go on me.

I'm just about to cross 60k miles on my HR nismo. Had a supercharger on it for about 5K miles. (3 years now). Still grabs since day one. Since I'm in New England, I store my Z for the winter's. I usually have it out from April until mid October. When the spring comes, I change almost all fluids. Brake, clutch, charger oil, engine oil. Diffy and transmission every 2 years. But out of all honesty, I drive it a Max 1,500 - 2,000 a year. These 350z nismos are hard to come by, so vigorously do maintenance.
