Help diagnose this sound

Have you had high oil consumption or a rough idle?

I think step one would be the PCV valve. They can be noisy and whistle but I've never heard one that loud though lol. But who knows. If the sound went away when you removed it, I'd spend the 15 bucks or whatever to replace it to see. It's normal for the idle to drop some when you remove/plug it.

Or you know, burn it with fire so it doesn't kill us all.

Does anybody know if the hose in the pic below is part of the PCV system. The one marked 2.?

I know, 1. is the PCV valve hose, but not sure on the 2.

And a closer inspection shows that it looks kinked/collapsed a bit:

Two is a breather tube, supposed to let fresh(er) air from your intakes into the valve covers. That pinch might be what's causing your car to call out for Satan, but I wouldnt think so...

Got the noise fixed.

Turned out to be a check valve issue. The seal inside the spring was worn/expanded over time or something along those lines, and caused a ton of vacuum which made that noise.

They removed the seal, and now the noise is gone and everything is all good again.

They said, if the noise returns to bring the car back to them so they can figure out a way to delete the check valves and or do a catch can setup.

Dual catch can setup + PCV delete is easy peasy.

Sporacingrts Compact Baffled 3-Port Oil Catch Can 2 Inlets 1 Outlet Silver on Amazon.

Order some appropriate tubing and AN fittings, and you're good to go. If you're running dual catch cans (and why not?) be sure to order two bungs to seal the spare inlet on each can.

They're about the diameter of a pop can and an inch or two shorter.
