i'm not trying to bypass the feature, i'm trying to make it work without doing an ecu reset every day, or time i stop driving for 30 min.
So far an ECU reset "fixes" the problem for it just to come back days or weeks later. Since i don't drive with s-mode all the time i only see it when there is an issue and i want to use it. |

Sounds like a mild money shift. Is there an internal device that controls the Syncro Rev Match that has perhaps broke in the process?

No idea, from what i have gathered there are 3 different sensors that can either come loose or be broken. So far i have checked both under the clutch area with 0 success. headed to the dealership tomorrow to see if they can sort it out.

Appreciate the advice but I have no idea how to get myself down there to adjust that bit! I was able to stick my head in the foot well by playing origami but i don't have any way to get my hands down there to adjust anything.
I'm headed to the stealership tomorrow and am going to hope for the best. I still really don't see how it could be that switch though. It was never adjusted, and i did put my finger between it and the rubber stopper. TONS of pressure, so much it was painful to my thumb. and i had to use my head to move the clutch if that gives you an idea of how little room i have. Hopefully SW Nissan in TX can figure it out. |

Perhaps its not an adjustment issue, and the switch simply failed. I am just used to assuming its an adjustment issue, as it should be a pretty common issue for this car... especially with how much people have to mess with the clutch hydraulics and pedal in this car.
If you are unable to physically position yourself down there, I understand that it makes more sense to just let Nissan work it out. I am no fan of getting under there, and I can respect that for many people it may not even be an option. |

hopefully that is it which should mean an easy and hopefully not super pricey fix. It may very well be that, but it worked with 0 issues when i needed it to after the clutch and master cylnder job.
It was only after i messed up my shift that i started getting issues. I understand what you mean about the ECU starting fresh and then relearning that the sensor is messed up, i just can't fit down there to adjust it. I will make a point to ask them about this too. UPDATE!!! Its "fixed" but not sure if it will last. While i couldn't get my big *** under the steering wheel i as able to really put pressure (upwards) on the clutch pedal. The warning went away and now the s mode works. I just need to find a smaller guy to get under there for an actual adjustment. Not to sound like a broken record, but just drive the car around the block and see if the cruise control system works. Its the easiest way to test if the problem is the top clutch switch. If the control system does not recognize that your foot is off the clutch due to a problem with the switch, it will not allow cruise control to fully activate. This is because cruise is intended to automatically turn off if it notices you press on the clutch at all similar to how it behaves if it sees you press the brake pedal.

Maybe you knocked the shifter position sensor out of adjustment.

Yeah, it's super tight getting down there to do any work. I actually pulled my seat out when I did my RJM pedal and HD CMC. It still wasn't much room but I was at least able to lay on my back with my feet up and over the bar behind the seats.

I actually got it to work while driving, so I attempted the cruise control at the same time with no success.
As to how it got knocked out of place, i can guess it was the bad shift. Didn't think it was that jerky to move the sensor but i'v been wrong plenty of times before. Since i didn't really adjust it and just applied a liberal amount of pressure i'm still going to try and actually move it. Hopefully the cruise control will work but if not i'm not sweating it. I just really wanted / needed to get the s-mode back. |
