7at issue
I just changed my transmission fluid at 77k, this issue happened twice. I will be in 5th gear and use the paddle shifter or the stick to downshift to 4 it will have a 4 second delay and then it shifts with a slight grind and a clunk sound

If the delay-grind-clunk started after the fluid change, I'd re-check the level.

Never heard of delayed symptoms like that....does it downshift good when you’re cruising highway speeds & stab it ?

+1 Overall comparing to other vehicles our 7A transmissions in our Z’s are very reputable/dependable transmissions. You could have a possible issue with your valvebody it happens sometimes. Definitely always make sure your transmission fluid is full in your transmission and if you think your transmission fluid is low if you can’t do it yourself take your Z to your service shop or Nissan dealership service department you trust and have them make sure your transmission fluid is full. Also changing your transmission fluid in your 7A transmission on time is part of your general maintenance every 20K-30K miles I recommend. I have been running a Level 10 7A transmission for five years now with street and lots of track miles with no issues thank you again Pat at Level 10 transmissions it has held up very well.

Looks like they have several options, here are two that jumped out on me: $790 for the valvebody upgrade (I'm guessing this improves shifting but won't help you hold any more power?): https://www.importperformancetrans.c..._detail&p=5434 $4775 doesn't seem bad if that means you can run the crap out of it: https://www.importperformancetrans.c..._detail&p=5435 |

Yea, Been beating on mine and no issue. As for valvebody, it's supposed to help with better, quicker shifting. Maybe helps a bit to handle little more power but I wouldn't hold on that.
