Surprising Dyno Results, Maybe?

So I had a baseline dyno completed before the BP Turbo goes in and i was surprised with the results. Granted i don't have a baseline to compare to but the guy said other stock 370z average around 280-290whp on their mustang dyno and not get my hopes up. I was expecting around 320whp but to surprise its reading about 352whp.

My Z wasn't stock my mods at the time of this dyno were
Stillen G3 intakes
Berk HFC
Berk CBE
No tune.
ZSpeed Lightwheel flywheel and EZ Street Stage 2 Clutch.

No tune? Sounds like a high-reading dyno. My understanding was most stock z’s make ~275. Even if you’re off by 15, that still sounds pretty high without a tune.

What year is it? The exhaust manifolds changed in’15

2009 with around 35k miles.

High reading dyno for sure. Most full bolton and tuned NA Z's are somewhere in the neighborhood of 340 whp.

With no tune and having cats (even if they are HFC's) you're not getting 350 at the wheels.

bmstitt 12-20-2018 10:13 PM

Yeah definitely high on an ‘09.
I’m sure the flywheel frees up some power. I’ve heard of ~5whp from a lightweight flywheel. Do you have an aftermarket diff or lightweight wheels/rotors?

That number is nuts

I got 298 whp on a mustang with FI catback, FI res cat, Stillen G3, South bend flywheel and a ecutek tune

Even though i was on craptastic california 91 octane . . . it shouldn't be a 50 hp difference

Wonder what's up, they even said most Z's are around the correct numbers.

Also is your plate really bazinga lol

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of it. A 2016+ sti wrx made 248 before me with what he said was "full bolt-ons" i guess that means similar breather mods. And a stock audi s8 v8t put down 522whp before that.

I dont know much about dynos or how they are calibrated or if calibration is changed between runs? Just found the number surprising even for a high reading and wanted to share.

More like BHP numbers.

See my signature for the dyno numbers after bolt-ons and a tune...
