Oil Cooler.....Trans Cooler...
If one was to get an oil cooler, which would be the "best" kit to put on? (I say best knowing there is no true best)
I'd like one that would route oil to the cooler in the event that the temps get hot and can keep the oil temps below 240F in Oklahoma with the sun out and it being 100F or higher, but in cooler weather, it doesn't push oil through the cooler. Tracking...who knows, I may eventually / occasionally put it on a track...mostly just aggressive (when appropriate) street driving. I'm also curious about transmission coolers - any kits out? Any on the horizon (if not) - just wondering... ;) |
GTM makes trans coolers and oil coolers.
they have a heavy duty AT trans cooler for AT TT setups. |

There are numerous threads on this as well as solutions for overcooling in the winter. See my cooler install link in my sig. From Mocal (the most commonly used thermostat): Quote:

I have often considered something like this.....
The one in the link is for a motorcycle, but the concept is there. A manually controlled valve to bypass the oil cooler. In mild months---or on the street---leave if closed. For the track, spirited driving, or the 20 days consecutive days in Aug in OK that stay above 100F, open it up. My folks live in Tulsa.
