I figured I would start a thread about this since I have been chasing
drivability issues with my OS Giken 1.5 way Diff. Ever since I have had it installed in the car I have had popping, binding, and a total pain in the butt during slow speed tight turns. I researched on here and found a few threads where folks say to only use OS Giken diff fluid 80w250 but no reason why. I have used many different GL-5 fluids. Motul 75w90, Motul 75w140, Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 all with Redline LSD additive. I did a diff service on my diff tonight and put in the OS Giken fluid. I don't know what they put in it but it flat out works. No more popping, binding, and shimming in the rear. So now if someone does a search they can find out why to use their diff fluid.
