Recommendations on Oil for 09 370z

What’s up guys! I have a 370z with 170,000 miles now. It’s been driving rough and most of the time I drive on the freeway. I’ve been putting 5w-30 still and am starting to think it needs something thicker. I also have an oil cooler installed, what do you guys (and girls) think? Thank you :rofl2:

You're probably going to want to be a little more descriptive on what "rough" means and why you think it needs something thicker.

You're also probably going to get flamed to hell for starting a thread with that title.

Ooh another oil thread!
:drama:

In all seriousness, what is making you lean toward something thicker?

If the engine has been properly maintained, you shouldn't need a different viscosity oil. A UOA and oil pressure check will give you a pretty good idea of the engine's condition.

This.....

unless you have engine problems, then you'll probably need more than just different viscosity oil.

IBTL. We all know where this will go.

The entire engine needs oil.

I 2nd amsoil signature series 5w-30. Otherwise there are other good full synthetic group IV or V. I wouldn’t jump viscosity just because mileage.

Some extra virgin olive oil mix with a bit of white wine vinegar season to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
