VDC off I almost crashed!!

Be ready for it and ready to lift off the throttle some if it happens. If you lift completely off bad things can happen. You need time in the seat to develop your skill level. One of the first things I will do is put a switch on the yaw sensor to cut that crap off. It has got me a couple of times.

Dude a R compound is not where you want to go. Yes they are extremely sticky but that’s sometime a detriment as there is no warning when they let loose. I would go with a higher end Bridgestone or Advan.

They operate at a higher temp than a street tire. On the street, they're not up to operating temp. The only way to get them to temp is to run the them hard. They're even worse in the wet. Street tire will tell you when they're about to let go. R Comps will hang and hang in there, then boom, they're gone. With little warning.

As much fun as it is to drive my car fast, I don't mind driving it slow either because I know at anytime, it can be fast.

Agreed, jdtodd an I did not run with you guys that morning at ZDAYZ because it was raining. We went out later and I was still wet Josh was like you lead you are on the r888 and I am on r71. We had fun and I resisted the urge to go full throttle until I had heat in my my tires and I wouldn't break traction. So even with hot tires 70% was it at best. Plenty fast enough for the both of us with full suspension and aero.

OK what do you guys suggest I go then, what high end bridgestone? Should I stick with my Pilot Super Sports and just go as wide as possible?

Mate - if you are interested, I will be at The Bend MotorSport Park with my race car for Round 4 of the SA State Championships on Oct 20 and 21, and should have a bit of time to jaw-bone your issues if you take the hour to sneak down the freeway to Tailum Bend.

Look for the bald old guy in Sports Cars #50. We'll be in one of the pit-lane garages, don't know which one yet.

There’s got to be 100-150 ft-lbs difference between 8.5 and 14 lbs.
