Hopefully Nissan will get their crap together and fix these issues. My car does the grind when I skip 5th and shift into 6th, usually at a higher RPM. To avoid it crunching I usually pull it out of 4th/3rd and press it against 6th while I wait for the RPMs to drop and it will slip into 6th by itself easily. Still it's very annoying. Nissan wouldn't have these issues if they went with a reputable transmission manufacturer, such as Getrag, instead of desiging their own.
