5th gear "crunching" with shift

Seems like I remember someone on the forum mentioning that the problem that was destroying the 6th gear (and apparently 5th gear) synchronizers was that we were inadvertently pressing down

Doing that starts to engage the reverse gear mechanisms and somehow screws around with the 5th and 6th gear synchros. Just sayin..... Late, Trav
