Even though MTs in 370s tend to be a bit clunky, actually they're reliable. The sounds you get from them don't affect performance, according to searches I've done. Me? I'm too old; I've got an AT in my Touring Coupe 350.

Just took mine in this morning for 6th gear grinding. I'll let you guys know what the dealer says. I should note that I have a base without syncro rev.

How often does it grind?

Double clutching will get you around the problem until you can get the car to the dealer. Its a pain in the butt to do but it works.

The dealer was able to reproduce the issue but asked me to monitor the situation to see if it gets worse by next maintenance. I'll probably push for a new transmission next time. It's just an annoyance for the time being but a new car shouldn't do that.

Auston I would say it does it more than 50% of the time unless I shift real slowly.

Wow, 50% of the time with fast shifts. This is ridiculous. Our car is under
warranty they _will_ need to fix this

Yeah problem is that my brain is already conditioned to shift slowly in 6th. Maybe I should just start hitting it hard till it fails. I can reproduce the grind over and over again by skipping 5th and going straight to 6th. I believe this is due to the higher RPMs.

I think for our trannies, it "normally happens" and there is a history of this, but is definitely not normal/good.

My 6th gear grinds/crunches if I shift quick. I've found that ever since I switched to Redline Oil, step on the clutch fast&quick, and shift to 6th slowly when it feels like it doesn't want to go in gear.... that it doesn't crunch anymore.

go to the dealership. It isn't normal. I had the same issue with different gears and got a new tranny. I posted the link in here already

I hear you, I went to the dealership and they replicated the issue. Weeks
later they told me to bring it back if it gets worse.

I figure if I bring it back again they will want to replicate it again. Since it
only happens about once a day, it's highly unlikely that it will act up again
with them driving. So I've been waiting for it to get worse to avoid certain
hassle with the dealership
