UpRev FATAL FLASH ERROR | Any ideas?
Ever since updating UpRev, I have been having connectivity issues with my ECU. I called in and support mentioned disabling any firewall/anti-virus. I actually did not have anything running. I uninstalled UpRev and removed the driver from device manager.
After re-installing, I was connecting again. Then I updated UpRev as it had asked. I started again with connection problems. Uninstalled and refused the update the next time. Was running fine up until I got a flash from my tuner and it failed in the middle. FATAL FLASH ERROR Fans on the car are constantly on. I am able to reconnect, but VIN number does not show up. When trying to flash, it warns me about losing a license. Even accepting this, does not flash. This connectivity issues happens on all 3 of my laptops. Sometimes it just hangs on "Checking ISO". Will stop randomly logging. Can't clear CEL codes... will state "Clearing" and will just hang indefinitely. Any ideas? |
To get around this:
1) Disconnect negative terminal of battery for at least 10 seconds 2) make sure you have the latest UpRev software release 3) Most likely you lost your license on your OBD2 interface, so you have to call up UpRev to restore the license. They will send you a .lic file which you will upload ***NOTE*** Before flashing any ROM, start a quick logging session and make sure it is working. Also, check for CELs and make sure you can return to the main menu without errors. This will insure that connectivity to the ECU is always retained. 4) Flash again |
If you need additional help, send me the ecu I can probably recover it for you on my bench.
