It's glue from filter media ends. It happens once in while to ALL filters. Very rare, but happens. Seen it lots. Even Nissan filters.

Don't want to think what happens if it gets ingested into the oil system, or plugging up oil galleys or stuck in moving parts. I've never experienced anything like that. I figure, if you stick to a good oil filter, you shouldn't see that problem. I would also run it by Mobil and see what they say. |
