Default key light, car wont start

2013 Touring MT. The fuse for the steering lock has already been removed.

One day ago, my key fob light came on (yellow one left of the fuel gauge). It would turn the car for half a second, then nothing when I press the start button. I replaced the fob battery, same thing happened. I was lucky enough that on my one of many tries, it finally started and was able to drive home. On the way home, I also noticed that my wiper blades would not move.

Been searching all morning without any solution, wiper blades won't move, yellow key light is still on, and car sometimes does not turn.

Any insight?

i have, it goes through acc/on, but the engine doesn't turn or anything. Sometimes, it'll start for turning for half a second then just die off

Check the clutch (6MT) or brake (7AT) pedal switch. Car won't start if it doesn't think you have the pedal pressed.

just order the clutch pedal switch, will update on the car starting. Any ideas on why the wipers won't work? Saw one thread but his wasn't consistently not working.

Also, it is the intelligent key light that's on. But I thought they fixed the steering lock issue on 2013+ models?

First thing I'd check is the fuse. If fuse is good I'd start looking for bad connections or a bad relay.

Nissan fixed the problem by deleting the ESCL in, IIRC, 2011. Ie, 2013s don't have an ESCL to go bad.

Fuse location should be in the Owner's Manual (if you don't have one, you can download a PDF from nissanusa.com).

Relay may be in IPDM-E/R which is located next to battery. Same box that the ESCL fuse is in. If you can find a copy of the FSM, it will have relay location.

Mine's been acting up a lately. I just hit the unlock button and then retry. Worked 3 times so far. I should get a battery and see if it goes away. And... only started after I got new tires. I always wonder if the mechanic did something when the car does something different when I get it back from them.

SOLUTION: bought an ebay IPDM with the same part number for 100$, gave it to the dealer and they charged 300$ to install it. All is well now.

Default Key light goes on and off while driving

So this just showed up on my 2010. Yellow light Intermittent turns off when I slow down and come to a complete stop. When I get on the gas it turns back on I’m not sure what this is steering lock did the YouTube thing pulled the fuse and still comes on car starts perfectly runs perfectly everything perfectly except the stupid light keeps coming on. Any have this issue or anything. I went to the dealer and they said FOB and I know it’s not the FOB. I read codes and no codes are coming up I’m stuck. Anything would help. I’m a mechanic and it’s driving me nuts I can’t figure this one out.
