Rear axle weight

Hey guys,
Just wonder if someone knows what is the complete rear axle weight?

Spooler 05-23-2018 12:30 PM

Are you wanting the weight measured at both rear tires? I have that, I need to dig up my corner balance numbers.

lionnir 05-23-2018 02:08 PM

Only the axle include diff, arms, shafts and everything... with no wheels.

Spooler 05-23-2018 02:16 PM

No idea on that.

You might be able to glean that info from the FSM - if you can find a copy. Or see if some of the online parts stores (eg, Courtesy Parts) have the weight for parts.

You want everything that is on the rear sub-frame then?

jchammond 05-23-2018 08:43 PM

Just the pumpkin (center section) is about 90#
Including stubs.

Are you picking that up? If you are. Be careful.

jchammond 05-24-2018 12:04 AM

That’s an older pic, when I ran down to Tampa & picked up that unit.
3.357 w/Quaife is in house covered up.

lionnir 05-25-2018 04:51 AM

I mean the full subframe with diff, shafts and arms.
Why im asking that question? Because im useing this on my mk1 ford escort with the vq engine and i want to know what going to be his weight.. i know the engine and tranny is about 205 kg.

Rusty 05-25-2018 10:19 AM

I image it's a couple hundred pounds. No one I know has weighted the whole sub-frame or even parts off off it. Other then what JC posted about the diff.
