This was to be next on my list & there are a variety of cans, videos & reviews.
Be sure & put new pcv valves in & you may have to remove upper plenum, to clean oily residue. Can is T’d in from pcv to plenum inlet (you appear to have it proper).
Inlet port from pcv should have an internal pipe, that goes down into some type of media (steel wool etc.) & outlet just gets clean vapors from near top of can.
Some have drain valves on bottom & some with screw on bottoms.....just be sure your pcv valves are good & you don’t just have nipples in grommets...or it will be sucking a lot up through system.

The last time I seen a smoke show like this from oil catch cans installed was from a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro SS LS1 and the owner failed to change his dirty PVC valves and also routed the lines wrong but he could remember to trim his mullet though. I am wondering what brand oil catch can did you install? Also double check your lines and make sure they are routed correctly. Install new PCV valves if you have not already. I see mostly people with forced induction Z’s running oil catch cans not people with naturally aspirated Z’s.

Why the catch cans, OP? Was it smoking or where you burning oil prior to the catch can installation?
