From a Road and Track article:

"The source of the Z's strength is also unfortunately its weakness. The VQ37VHR engine feels like it's reached the limits of its evolution, largely due to its character in the upper half of its rpm range but also because of its propensity for heat generation. Nissan strongly recommends its special Ester-based engine oil blend for reasons of compatibility on a chemical level with the slippery Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) that covers and protects various high-friction internal parts."

I'd suggest not using that dealership.

Just wanted to post something in regards to the Z1 oil cooler that I have installed on my 370Z.

I installed the oil cooler with the protective hosing and the thermostatic plate, since I do live in Toronto and spring tends to be cool and moody. Anyway, I have the 19 row cooler installed and it works like a charm. On a hot day, sitting in traffic (30+ degrees Celsius) the temperature stays stable, even when I am pushing the car and encounter traffic (Anywhere between 4-5 k shifts and stop and go traffic on the main road while getting onto the highway, nothing over 95 degrees Celsius)

Spirited driving? Not even an issue with this thing, temps stay stable (90 - 96 degrees Celsius), nothing crazy. Again this is a 19 row, I have no intention of taking my car to a track. Just my 2 cents. Oh, and if you're buying a Z, you need a oil cooler and CSC replacement, there are no excuses or way around it, so make sure you budget those two things in.

Edited: Operating temperatures during spirited driving, hot weather and stop and go traffic.
