2009 Base differential 3.335 swap to 2015 Nismo LSD 3.69 Differential

Hi there,

This a very noob question but I would like to know if there will be no issue to swap 2009 Base differential 3.335 to 2015 Nismo LSD 3.69 Differential, both are for 7AT. Do you think there will be no issue with ECU or any other element or fitment at the moment of install.

thanks for your answers in advance,

You swapping out diff? If so. Look at your stub axles on the diff. Some stubs are threaded with no nuts. Just uses bolts. Others have no threads and used bolts and nuts to bolt the axles to the stub axles on the diff. So, if the diff stub axles in your Z is not the same as the diff you're installing. You will have to remove the the stubs from the one in the Z and install them in the other diff. Not hard to do once you have the diff removed. You have to take a big hammer and knock the stubs out. The stubs are held in place with a spring clip inside the diff.

Be a good time to replace the diff bushing with a SPL bushing kit since you have it out.

Your speedometer will be a little off.

Disagree on replacing diff stubs. All that is needed is a new set of bolts and nuts or just bolts to match the diff stubs to the drive axles. Been there and done that and the proper bolts were not that cheap anyways. Replaced the diff a couple of times with a old style(bolts and nuts) and a newer style with only bolts that threaded into the diff axle. Old diff blew a pinion bearing and put in in a new Nismo diff instead.

Why go out and buy new bolts and nuts when you have everything there that you need. Like you said. The proper bolts are not that cheap. Reuse the stuff you got. And it's not that hard to swap the stubs in the diff to begin with.

These diff. Are both from a 2017 Nismo 7AT to a 2009 Base 7AT. As I understand it's just swap and that's all?

Look at the stub axles on the diffs. See if they are through bolt or use a nut and bolt to bolt the axle to the stub axle.
