What clutch should I get

I think the clutch is starting to slip on my g37 sedan so I am researching some replacements and will prob put it in myself...I was wondering what clutch you

Default What clutch should I get

I think the clutch is starting to slip on my g37 sedan so I am researching some replacements and will prob put it in myself...I was wondering what clutch you guys would recommend. I spend a lot of time in traffic commuting with the car so I prefer something a little easier like the stock clutch, but as far as aftermarket what clutch and flywheel would you recommend for my whip?

South Bend Stage 2 daily clutch and flywheel pack for Infiniti G37 with the South Bend DXD 4140 Billet Steel 19 lbs. flywheel from Z Speed Performance. I would opted for the billet steel flywheel instead of the nodular iron flywheel for the weight savings. Also install a Z Speed HD CSC if you have not already.

FWIW, I've got a 370z stock clutch with flywheel taken off at 8K miles in case you are interested. Open to offers.

Interesting, I never would of thought about South Bend not a company I have heard of before. Do you think the JWT would be too much for something I drive every day? Well I guess like anything I could get used to it

What is better: to replace with aftermarket CSC or used the aftermarket external CSC?

I knew someone with a JWT “Jim Wolf Technology” clutch on there 370Z they hold up well and are durable and will last. Just depends on how you use your 370Z? Street use,strip use,track use,auto x etc.?? As far as petal pressure and feel I believe that the JWT clutch is a lot like the competition clutch kits and could be used for street,strip,track use. With any new clutch you will have to get use to it over time. The CSC issue with the 370Z is enevitable and there is no way around it. To each his own but,I would get the CSC delete kit from Z Speed Performance. I can vogue for Joe at Z Speed Performance he knows his stuff.

Hey JARblue,
Did you take a pic of them there pieces/parts?
I'm at about 66K and I'm not interested in anything but the stock items, and am thinking about changing the CSC and the clutch when I take it apart, it would be nice to have a good set of stock lying there waiting, might make me get off my *** and do it. Having no problems whatsoever just thinking ahead.

Def thinking of external slave and think of it a a must do since I will be taking the transmission off.

I don't go to the track or plan to put any engine performance mods on the car...
Looking for something similar to stock (with the lighter flywheel)

Most all aftermarket clutches for the 370Z will not be just like the Nissan OEM clutch and flywheel. The South Bend stage 1 daily clutch and the nodular iron flywheel will be very close to the Nissan OEM clutch and flywheel petal feel. This clutch will last longer than the Nissan OEM clutch and flywheel. Doing the external slave is a must do aspecally if your transmission will be out and everything will be apart.

He we are 5 weeks later...I knew something was up with my g37 clutch. I rode my g35 clutch for 150k miles without any problem and was still gripping nice

Woke up drove to work I knew immediately my car was screwed. The clutch pedal had no feedback and was barely coming back up. So once I got to work I noticed I had no fluid in the res. I had a buddy from work bring some in for me to top it off but after sitting all day in the parking lot, the pedal was even worse on the way home. Let just say I flew through,,,well I dont want to self incriminate but I was shifting without using the clutch

So I finally got it back home and into my garage safe n sound. I am hoping to buy some time with just a bleed but I know I will need to get the trans out once I buy some parts. wish me luck guys

btw it's a 2010 g37 sedan with aproxx 99,700 miles on it and original clutch and parts

And what part of the trans does the fluid leak out because I think I spot some coming from the bottom where it is bolted to the engine

Just bled the clutch line, it was coming out super black at first but I put one of those small brake fluid bottles worth through it and its clear now but I know there is still some air in it, couldnt get it all out tonight...took it for a test drive and the pedal feels a lot better even though it doesnt come back up all the way it feels nicer than my car was even a month ago. I'll watch the level but I gotta order some parts asap to be ready

Ok so after two days of driving to work the pedal lost its complete function again. Conveniently? right as I was arriving home. I mean it hasn't been fully functional for the past week but finally went dead and the lines are loosing fluid fast now. I ended up bleeding the clutch line just a little bit so it had enough feedback in the pedal to drive 10 miles to my guy who will be fixing it. I would like to change it myself but am a little hesistant since I haven't done it before. I'm sure I could do it but I don't want the car sitting in the garage for weeks while I lay on my back n fix it. I am working on my boat on the other side of the garage rn so I have plenty to do

I know I have been posting by myself but if you are reading along...Just got the car back thursday with the new parts, had to rebleed the clutch fluid friday night. I could telll there was still some air in the line. The clutch feels how it's supposed to feel. I think I was loosing fluid for a while because the pedal never felt this good even when I bought the car almost year ago.

The only thing that kinda sucks is since I got the aftermarket lightweight flywheel there is a lot of noise when I am off to a start at a low rpm.

If Joe didn't tell you, the drivetrain chatter is unavoidable with any aftermarket clutch with a single-mass flywheel. The OEM dual-mass flywheel absorbs much of the drivetrain vibrations fairly quietly, but at the cost of being quirky to shift.

Of the available choices, you made a good selection you'll be very happy with. Props to you for doing the work yourself!
