I'm getting that burning smell above 4k rpms on hard accelerations that everyone says is from overloading your stock cats with too much pressure at once. Not surprised since I'm running a stillen supercharger. It seems as though the smell has gotten more obvious over time though.
Is there anything I can do that's confirmed to help out? Any fuel additives to my gas tank? Run seafoam every 3k? Last edited by JenovaI; 02-23-2018 at 12:49 PM. Reason: Exhaust, Cats |

High flow cats or test pipes. Your stock cats might just be damaged/falling apart from the added load from the SC. Not sure if just adding something will solve it.

Yeah, you're rapidly on the way to having those stock cats plugged up and causing many more expensive problems. Get them out of there.

Stillen's kit is designed for OEM cats though, it actually loses power with high flow or test pipes and they recommend against it... EDIT: In fact, every thread about this states people went back to OEM cats and got better low end power.
Wouldn't I need a retune too? Last edited by JenovaI; 02-23-2018 at 01:51 PM. |
