Thanks MightyBobo. I knew I was doing the right thing when I had my first oil change at about 1000 miles.

Dropped mine at 1255, if I remember correctly.

Not sure if Honda still does this but they wanted the first oil change done after 3000 miles, to help break in the engine properly. That's what it said in my 2001 prelude manual. I will most likely do my first z oil change after 3k.

Some break-in oils have extra molybdenum to help with piston sealing and they want you to keep it in for at least 3000 miles.

I did my first oil change at 3738. I think even if I didn't have a lifetime warranty, I'd still do it around the same mileage. I doubt 2000 miles will make a difference..

I think it was the same when I bought my 2001 Acura Integra GSR.

Will have to look at the maintenance section in the Owner's Manual for the Z.
