Removed engine cover now have vacuum?
Hi guys so yesterday I took off my engine cover and now one of the bolt holes has like a vacuum/suction coming from the hole? It was cause my car to idle high. It’s the bolt hole where is says v6 on the engine cover. I just put the screw back into the hole and it went away?

Bolt
Lol you probably unscrewed a intake manifold bolt on accident
|
this literally makes no sense at all lol.
If you remove the engine cover it won't effect any Intake systems. the engine cover threads into the manifold but on sections that are not connected to the intake. If you are getting suction from something and you car is idling high, then you disconnected something not related to the engine cover. I also sense this could be a troll just looking to fire some fun out there? |
I have seen a similar thread I think on this forum and the G37 forum. It happens when the bolt gets over-tightened and slightly cracks the intake manifold. When the bolt is out it pulls a vacuum due to the crack.

Tbh I don’t see how it makes no sense? Like zero99 said it was due to over-tightening so putting the screw back in fixed the problem but wanted to see if anyone knew what happen because at the time I was clueless? 😂😂

if there was a crack, it will eventually leak again over time.
