Default Nissan did not cover rear axle click under drivetrain warranty

This is somewhat informational and somewhat of a rant

I've read through forums that this is a common issue with the Zs and has a TSB out for it, and most people got it covered under the drivetrain warranty.

The dealership I went to though did not cover it, they knew what the problem was and how to fix it yet wouldn't tell me if it's covered under the warranty UNTIL they regreased the axle, THEN they told me it was $150...

lesson learned and a warning to all

UPDATE: CALLED NISSAN and they agreed to cover it under warranty and reimbursed me

Contact Nissan. Should be a phone number in the Owner's Manual.

I know. I would have if Nissan didn't fix it for me OUTSIDE of warranty without letting me know

I didn't even have to remove the axle and re grease the threads. I just took of the rear wheels off, cotter pin, castle nut and torqued down the rear axel nut to I think it was 130 and the tick went away. The nuts were loose, Try that.

Is this a click, mine makes more of a clunking sound and I can feel a little play in the rear end.

I just had this fixed under warranty on my 16'. Told them the issue, they were familiar with it, and then gave me a loaner car for a day, all of it was covered under warranty.
I'd try another dealership if I were you, and hopefully you'll get the same results as I did.

Got the issue on my car too. Took it to dealership 2 days ago, they said, and I quote "I'm pretty sure that's normal". I still made an appointment for this Friday for them to look into it. What can I say that can help them find the issue?

Yea there is a tech bulletin out for it. My dealership was already aware of it as a couple of them drive Z's themselves.
