Stillen gen 3's arriving this Saturday :)
I'm finally installing the Gen 3's this weekend! I'm gonna follow a DIY I found on here. There's a couple questions I have that I couldn't find on this forum. 1. Does this give 18whp without a tune? Or do you HAVE to have a tune for that increased power it gives? 2. Will water from rain or washing the car give the filters problems?

On the long tube's-the filter's sit up on top of crash bar, behind nose piece; As this is a high pressure zone that allow's air flow to enter & what doesn't go through radiator, wrap's around crash bar to filter's...out of the weather elements....if you open hood & intentionally spray nozzle down front-you can wet filter's/ but otherwise they are protected.

I upgraded my Z1 w/higher flow filters w/6" base...had to fabricate crash bar- but they stay in place w/all foam behind crash bar still in place.
Also built an air-guide, to channel fresh air through radiator & around crash bar only; as it would bleed around it otherwise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Okay good I was worried about water damage.... and I will still feel a pretty good difference on them even without a tune? I will do some tuning at some point. I'm gonna get a full exhaust system and test pipes as well before I tune tho.

If you're trying to get the most power out your Z & not boosting; take a look at the C2 exhaust cams that MAMotorsport's are selling,,,30+ HP

When you install the drivers side Intake pipe it will be touching a AC line. DO NOT FORGET to put some sort of material in between the pipe and AC line or it will eventually rub a hole through your AC line causing loss of friends/ac. I used a rubber hose that I bought from Autozone and cut in down the middle to wrap around the line and used zip ties to hold it in place.

Doing the install today and I accidentally didn't follow a step correctly. I removed this deal by the original intake closer to where the engine cover sits and I hooked the hose up directly to the intake. Is this set up fine that I have or do I need to hook this back up
