ID1000cc Injectors Question, URGENT!

As shown in be picture,
When installing the ID1000cc Injectors, are the little metal rings supposed to stay on the injector? The ones right above the green o-rings..

Only asking because I did the install and didn't remove the metal rings, everything felt fine and bolted right back down, the fuel rails that is.
