Default 7AT Tranny Downshifting Delay / Clicking ?

Hello all,

Had a quick question, two part in essence.

First part was the fact I noticed a change in downshifting today ( i believe it is revmatching? for the automatic if that exists?). All the times I have "downshifted", the revs went from 3k to 4k when it went down, how it is supposed to go. Recently, without changing driving habits, i was doing the same exact thing, however instead of jumping rpms, it slowly and gradually crept to higher RPM's rather than the quick jump. Any idea of what this is?

In addition, only when I go from second into first in manual mode (not auto mode) there is a clicking sound only from second into first. It's inbetween a clunk and a click, any thoughts? Car is off warranty, so give me some peace of mind!

Thanks all for the input

Change the tranny fluid or check the levels? Also how fast are you going when downshift from second to first? I only ask because sometimes when I approach a stop sign or light at slow speeds (5ish mph) and downshift from second to first there is a lag with rev match.

The 7at is a clunking tranny to begin with. I have had the thud noise happen once when I was making a right turn into a driveway. I thought I got hit or ran over something. Does your clunk happen all the time? Does the tranny slip into gears? And are you sure it's the tranny and not the rear diff bushing or rear axle? Do a search on the rear axle click and rear diff bushing. Maybe one of these is the culprit.
