Hey guys I think I'm gonna change my plans and save up more $ and get a clutch and flywheel along with a aftermarket CSC and CMC. My clutch feels just fine on normal driving. Have plenty of pressure. I just won't shift aggressive or stomp the gas at all till I swap all of it :/ what's y'all thoughts on this plan?

That's probably fine. You should consider going ahead and getting the CSC and CMC in case it fails the rest of the way and you need to get it back up and running quickly.

Here's what I'm thinking for my set up.

Clutch & Flywheel- https://www.z1motorsports.com/clutch...hr-p-8771.html

CSC- ZSpeed Performance Replacment HD Clutch CSC Heavy Duty Slave Cylinder Kit

Master cylinder- ??? would it be better to go aftermarket with this set up?

Pilot bushing- 300zx 350z 370z G35 G37 Clutch Pilot Bushing

I'd go with the Z Speed CMAK kit. It moves the slave cylinder from inside the transmission bell housing to the outside of the housing ... so if the slave ever fails in the future, there is no need to drop the tranny ... saving a lot of trouble and $$. It is more expensive than the standard HD CSC, but well worth the extra $$ IMHO. I'm currently running the CMAK kit with the HD CMC and clutch pedal assembly from RJM Performance. Works great!

I'm running the Z1 kit in my turbo build. If you don't have a need for a performance clutch you might not want to take that step. It's going to feel and have the stiffness of a mechanical clutch. I like to refer to mine as like driving a mid-80s F250 diesel. Not impossible in a DD but you'll probably hate it on traffic.

I mean it'd be fun to try a performance set up. I like driving fast :) and why do you say I'd hate it in traffic? Is it noisy

Probably would be smart for the long run

No, it's extremely stiff.

Anyone else here run the JWT clutch and flywheel?

Jayhovah 08-21-2017 02:50 PM

I daily my Z1 clutch/flywheel (not JWT) and I don't have any problems with it, but it is stiffer than stock. I am with jwick though, there isn't a ton of benefit to upgrading your clutch unless you are planning power mods that necessitate it.... or your OEM one is worn out already.

Chuck33079 08-21-2017 03:03 PM

Not so much the clutch, but there's a very noticeable improvement from swapping to a lighter flywheel. At the cost of a LOT of chatter, though.
