Default Sluggish

Hi,

I just moved from TX to South Florida, I have a 2013 with 10K miles. It's Hot here today, with high humidity, my car suddenly started running very sluggish during acceleration.

Is it a combination of the heat and humidity?. Oil was up to 230F. Running Mobil 1.

Never had these problems in TX, kind of confused since I have no check engine light, other than the hesitation and sluggish acceleration.

Anyone have any input....

I'd first check to see if you have a code. Low gas level or maybe some bad gas?

Also check your oil level.

This is pretty much a well documented issue here on the forum. Do a little searching. Solution=Tune

My wild guess is that you were driving on FMs in TX and were able to maintain a good speed. In S FL, traffic is a lot worse and you spend more time at slow speeds - not enough air over the radiator.

Default Not Sure

I am not sure....maybe a bigger oil cooler and remapping.

Oil and coolant are topped off. Gas is from Costco, maybe that's a factor.

I am confused, the car accelerates like it had 100 HP less.....

Coriolis effect. Gotta move back to Texas to get your power back.
Check your air filters?

I experience the same thing here in Atlanta, Georgia during drive time stop and go traffic because it is all about getting air flowing through your radiator to cool down engine temperature. A larger engine oil cooler will help lower your engine oil temperature. Every vehicle runs less efficient in the hot humid weather though. Have you been doing all the general maintenance on your car? A lot of different things could be wrong with your car as to why your car is hesitation, sluggish acceleration,or lack of throttle response. You could have a clogged internal fuel filter in your gas tank, your air filters could be clogged, you could have vacuum leak/s,you could need a full tune up spark plugs, coils, pcv valve, oil change etc.,you could have faulty 02 sensors. If you think there is something wrong with your car get it diagnosed by your mechanic.

Running cheap gasoline in our cars is never a good idea. In these cars I would only use top tier gasoline like Chevron or Texaco gasoline. Minimum of 91 octane as specially if you install a new tune/mapping on your car. You should definitely consider a bigger engine oil cooler.

Default Update

Just a quick update,

Today this problem disappeared all by itself....very weird.

I ordered a sprintbooster anyway, It will improve the throttle response.
