some people don't have a jack other than the crappy oem one found in our trunks.

There's a DIY thread on here. Look for some strange fluid lead above the diff.

If one is going to be troubleshooting drivetrain problems (or anything else under the car), one needs to have a proper jack and stands. Or take it to a mechanic.

Bottom line if its under some kind of warranty, let them look at it and properly diagnose instead of forum inquiries of what's wrong.

I'm assuming that you had someone install it for you.
I see nothing wrong with this reply. It's the same thing I would post. OP, if you don't have a jack and some basic tools. You need to take it back and let them take a look at it. It's under warranty. The only thing you can do, is to crawl under the exhaust and look at the diff cover to see if it has any black streaks on it.

Nice trick for those without a jack... Driving 2 wheels on the curb near a driveway will give you 4-5 inches extra clearance to shimmy under your car and take a peak. Make sure it's in gear/park and hand brake is on.

Used this trick on my old 914 when I had to jerry-rig a broken clutch cable 200 miles away from home.

Also... If I didn't have tools, and was not mechanically inclined, I would not be modding my car. Unless you've got a bunch of money, it seems like it's a very expensive way to go.

I think I'm a know it all because I've done most of it or seen/advised at one point or another lol

Sounds like a great signature but I don't post to stroke my ego. Something else maybe but that belongs in the Premium Members Lounge where we talk about douche bag non-members and things of a sexual nature.
