Anyone have any thoughts on this? Could this be a solution on our cars, before upgrading to a dry dump to help with bearing longevity and high rpm's?

ACCUSUMP UNITS
Accusumps are oil reservoirs that connect to the engine's oiling system. They are designed collect pressurized oil from your engine and store it so it may be discharge when oil pressure is low. Accusump Oil Accumulators deliver oil before starting to eliminate dry start scuffing (pre-oiling) and discharge oil during low oil pressure surges to protect against engine damage during demanding racing conditions. Accusump Turbo-Oilers deliver oil to turbos after shut down to lubricate and cool hot turbo components and prevent coke build up and turbo damage.

Accu-sumps have be around for as long as I can remember and it does work.

These can be mounted in the boot (sorry - trunk). Given the tight nature of the engine bay, that is going to be your only option.

Be aware that a dry-sump system will be better, but these - and a baffled sump are a 90 percent solution.

If they were a 100% solution, no race cars would use dry-sump.

If you are an occasional track junkie, they "should" be OK.

I guess I should have said that with an Accusump, the shortcoming is that it is filled with oil from the sump, so if you have a 1 quart Accusump, best to have a sump extender to increase capacity by a quart becasue once you start the engine, the first thing the oil pump does is fill up the accusump again which means that the oil in it never circulates thru the engine.

Putting extra oil in the sump can risk the crank hitting the oil and foaming it which can be an engine killer.

Accusump requires a deeper oil pan as a consequence

Gotcha. I guess I'll just hold off for the dry sump after the motor build.
