2009 370Z 5th Gear Grind
 

Just got my "new" 2009 370Z. Test drove it and thought 1st to 2nd shift was odd. Wrote it off to the difference between my 87 Shelby CSX and the Z. Didn't have place to go through all gears. Picked it up Saturday, but didn't complete paper work until yesterday. Finally got to go through all gears and find that 5th gear grind. Have driven it and shifted to 5th 5 times and it grinds every time. 6th is ok. Reverse is ok. Not sure about 1st. Any advise appreciated. Already called dealer. Said they hadn't driven it through all gears. Already read some posts about this issue and not feeling good about it. Thanks.

I have a 2010 here and have never grinded 5th gear. That sounds pretty odd to me and if it was me id probably return the car. Id wait for others to chime in though, maybe there is a way to fix it but it sounds bad.

5th gear synchro is pretty common issue I've heard, never personally had issues though. Either have them replace it or return the car I'd say
