Uprev tune, now cruise control not working
Hey guys. I got my car tuned on 10/20/16 with Uprev. Yesterday was the first time I tried using cruise control since I got the car tuned, and it isn't working. I haven't done anything else to the car since it was tuned. Before tune it worked fine, not it isn't working at all. Is it normal that the cruise control won't work anymore because of the different maps which are changed with the cruise control? I tried several times with the car in 6th gear (6MT) between 55-70mph. The cruise control light will come on in the dash (no blinking or anything) when it is turned on. Any ideas?
P.S. - I tried searching around but couldn't find any info on this exact issue. Thanks! |
Best thing to do probably is call your tuner and see if he disabled something, have him look at the tune file.

I tried calling the tuner earlier today, before posting this thread. They are in the middle of switching locations, so they are had to get a hold of at this moment in time. I figured I would start a thread to get some ideas in the meantime. |
You answered your own question.
If you have different maps that change using the CC button, you lose your CC |
I can change maps on the fly and my CC works without issue so i agree, check with your tuner.

As soon as I can get a hold of the tuner, I will post what he says.
Thanks again guys! |

Do you have the ARC features or just the tune? I know there are some small kinks with the ARC features so maybe that has something to do with your issue. On my car it won't let me change at what rpm I can 2 step launch from, it's kinda annoying lol. I would check with your tuner

Using the map switching feature has ZERO impact on the cruise control, it should still work exactly like before. If you got the ARC features as well it is possible that there is a bug that needs to get ironed out, but I haven't heard of anyone losing cruise completely.
Another possibility is that the tuner flashed your ECU with a rom that was from a Z without cruise.. so now your car thinks it doesn't have cruise either. Long story short, get ahold of the tuner. |
Hey guys. Finally went and saw my tuner today. (Alex at Real Auto Dynamics is the one who tuned my car. Great guy, great tune, and friendly, helpful staff.) My car was definitely tuned with a ROM for cruise control. Alex went through all the maps, then test drove it, but the cruise control still wasn't working. He then flashed the ECU back to stock, and the cruise control wasn't working after that either. He also called UpRev and spoke to the head tuner there to try and get some ideas/solutions, but to no avail. I can't say enough about the shop and staff at R.A.D. Great guys and I would recommend them!
It just happens that my cruise control coincidentally stopped working after I got tuned. I didn't even try using my cruise control for over 2 months, after getting tuned, so I can't honestly say when it stopped working - I just figured it had something to do with the tune. Anyone else know what else I can check? Like I stated in my first post, when you press the cruise control light, the light illuminates on the dash, but when you try to set it, nothing happens. I don't think it's the buttons for the cruise control, as they work when changing maps. Thanks again for all the help guys!!! |
Clutch/Brake switches maybe needs adjustment?
|
Have you changed brake pads to a more aggressive bite?

Do you have the ARC License?

After doing more research, I found out it can be the clutch or brake pedal switches that will cause the cruise control not to work. If they aren't fully depressed (the top switches) when clutch or brake pedal isn't being used, they cruise control won't work.
I looked at the switches, and they look like they are working fine, but when I just went for a quick ride, if I hold the brake pedal up while driving, the cruise control will work. It is too dark now, but all I should have to do is adjust the switch. I just want to say 'Thank You!' to everyone who tried to help and offered suggestions. I feel a little stupid that it was something as simple as this, but the ideas on here are what got me thinking and trying a few different things until I figured it out. |
Your tuner might have disabled ETC(electronic throttle control) the Cruise mode will turn on but not set speed due to this feature off.

It may be as simple as the car learning the new brakes. That's what happened to me and once the new wore off my cruise started working again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Didn't put mine on the cruise switch but it works fine with my new 420hp Uprev tune by Pellegrini Motorsports!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4db63a48ff.jpg
