I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised how good mine still seems. I don't depend on the Z during the winter so I think I may just put off buying a new battery and use a maintainer. Most of the time it's in a heated garage which probably helps.

the battery will last much longer if it was kept full or near full charge at all time. prolong period at low charge would damage the internal of the battery.

I don't drive my car much, but I hook up the battery tender about once a month to ensure the battery is at full charge. I still have the original 6 years old battery.
