What oil cooler do I need?
I've been looking at the Z1 options and I'm not sure as to which would suit my needs more be it the 25 row or the 34 row. I live in TN so it goes from mildly to very hot here for probably 6-7 months of the year, pending month of course. I will be tracking the car at some point but didn't know if I needed the additional rows for cooling or if that was just overkill. Any input is appreciated.

IMHO, if you're going to eventually track the car just get the 34 row. Even with the thermostatic sandwich plate, you're going to want to make up a block off plate to block airflow through the cooler during the cooler months though.

Is it really that bad during the cooler months?

Casual highway driving in early April here in Ohio with ~50°F temps and mine would barely even reach 180 on the gauge iirc. For the cost of a small sheet of plexiglass or aluminum and some velcro you can help insure proper operating oil temps with very little work.
