Clutch/Starting
With my 2009 Touring Z, sometimes the car won't start when I push the clutch in. I'm not sure whether pumping the pedal or pushing the pedal in as hard as I can is fixing the issue. The fluid level is above the low line, but that was after a 20 minute drive home from work. This is my first car where pushing the clutch in is required. Does this sound like a switch going bad or a clutch issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Search for "clutch switch". If the site's search doesn't find what you want, try any of the big search engines and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

You also "might" be hitting the start button too quickly. Give it a leisurely push.
Also, if you have the fuse pulled for the steering lock, that affected mine greatly. Sometimes I push the button and nothing happens. I wait, then it starts. It's like it's taking a nap and doesn't wake very quickly. Even though previous manual cars didn't require the clutch to be pushed in to start, it's always been a good idea. |
