Sticking/Grinding 5th gear !?

I have an issue with my 2012 370z when I'm driving & I try going into 5th gear at low & high RPM from time to time it wants to grind going into gear . The car only has 20k on it I know I'm engaging the clutch in all the way before I shift but still happens every now & then . My throw out bearing is going bad could that be an issue . Has anyone else ran into this problem ? & if so what could be the cause/fix . Thanks in advance

Most commonly, 5th gear grinding seems to be due to the synchros wearing out. If your powertrain warranty is still good and Nissan agrees it is synchro wear, they'll give you a new transmission since they don't service the internals.

Check out these other threads:

Synchros in these transmissions seem to be very fragile; not necessarily due to wear and tear. It's kind of a crap shoot whether a brand new transmission will end up any better than the one you have.

My first transmission was grinding in 3rd gear, and I had it replaced under warranty. Now the second (new) transmission exhibits similar symptoms as yours, in 5th gear. I am so far unable to find a place that is willing or able to rebuilt and upgrade the synchros...see http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...nsmission.html
