Uprev problems
Hello, my name is Austin Wilson and I'm really hoping someone can help me out. I bought a cable used from a fellow member and last he remembers the cable was in working order. For some reason, no matter what I do the car will not connect to the laptop. It doesn't even give me the option as if the cable isn't making a connection. I've used 3 different computer (with windows 7, 8 and 10) and uninstalled and reinstalled the uprev software on each computer. I've also made sure the software is up to date. The computer recognizes that my cable plugs in because it makes the noise. I also know that my obd2 slot is getting power because my Bosch scan tool works fine. Please any help is appreciated this issue has really gotten under my skin.

Is the license on the cable? Did the previous owner unmarry the cable from the ecu?

If you have anti virus software disable it. Other than that it could be defective, unfortunately there is no warranty on second hand cables so you're going to have to take it up with the seller

Possibly an unrecognized ROM build?

I already have the license on my car as I've had uprev for years, when I bought the cable it did not have a license on it I just wanted to use it to download ARC uprev features. |

Still nothing
Tried it without antivirus with no luck. I assume it just has to be the cable at this point. The only other thing I could think of is a bug in uprevs software. Thanks for the input everyone and if anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Also, just wanted to share my experience with uprev lately and say that it has not been pleasant. They never return phone calls, emails, Instagram messages anything at all. Very irritating when you've spent a lot of money with this company. I may end up just swapping to ecutek, it's like uprevs customer service department is non existent.

And I've also told them many different times via email/phone messages that if I need a new cable from them I will gladly buy one. Still no reply. It is just frustrating.

Have you checked the cable driver if properly installed? I know you said windows makes noise when you plug in the cable to the computer.
Making a sound does not mean the computer recognized the device you plug in. The noise means the computer see a plug device. |
Try a new micro usb cable.
