Default Idle after installing the Gen3

Anyone experience any problems with the idle not dropping below 1000 rpm? I have the service engine light and my car does not drop below 1000 rpm. I was thinking this was a MAF sensor issue after putting in the Stillen Gen3. But I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar problem or any thoughts.

Did you tighten all the hose? sound like a vacuum leak!
Did you disconnect the Neg on the Batt like it's instructed? to reset the ecu.

The odd thing is that the light came on, and I'm having this idle issue a couple of days after the install. So, since this issue is delayed, you think it is a leak? Or is it still a matter of resetting the ECU?

Could be a leak. Check and see if everything is fitted properly.

try looking to see that all the hoses are on tight and that something didn't work it's way loose, and reseting the ecu won't hurt.

Something is definitely not sounding right on the installation. Sounds like you don't have a code reader of any sort, but MAF is definitely the right guess, something potentially related to unmetered air or something not being 100%.

Please call us in the morning if you continue to have issues..

^ Probably... although the car usually just shuts off when that happens.

Check for loose clamps or screws. Its a weird problem to have after installing intakes.

I'll probably tackle this in the morning. But, since this problem was delayed a couple of days (no light and no idle problem after install), this seems like something shook lose doesn't it?

Also, if I can't get this fixed immediately, any potential damage to driving around like this for a couple of days?

No, the ECU is going to correct (and whine at you) for any unmetered air or other problems.. but you do want to get them sorted out.

I'm sure checking the install will probably find something..

I noticed the areas that attach the breather hoses on the stillen pipes are smooth and short, even with tightening the hose clamps, one could have slipped off...

So I tightened some of the connections (none appeared to be loose, but I did it anyway) and the check engine light and the idle issue went away (I did not re-set the ECU). Still, decided to take it to the shop and the guy re-checked all the hoses and he found no leaks.

He also plugged in his code reader and everything seemed to check out, though apparently the light I was getting was a PO300 error (cylinder misfire). I'm thinking this was caused be the increased airflow. But anyway, the light/error is gone and my car seems to be fine. I guess the ECU just needed some time added time to adjust (more than I thought).

Glad to hear everything seems as it should. Haven't heard of that code triggering on any intakes, but occasionally weird things can happen to even a stock motor..

Yea, it definitely wasn't the most common of problems. But, no light/problem again this morning, so hopefully I'm in the clear.

I should get myself a code reader though, would probably come in handy with these situations.

I had/have the exact same issue cylinder misfire. Dealer made some adjustments but light came back on yesterday. I will have installer check all connections. I hope that that is what it is.
