Help with where a ground strap plugs in
I was installing a CAI tonight and noticed that on the inside of the passenger fender directly below what appears to be the brake line, there is a fairly heavy ground strap connected to the fender. The problem is it isn't hooked to anything else. It looks like it perfectly reaches the intake manifold where the bolt for the crankcase vent tubing was removed, but I don't know why you would ground from there because it is plastic. It is possible this has just been hanging out. Can somebody go look and tell me where the ring terminal attaches?

Any metal spot on the engine will work. Look at the FSM to see where Nissan ran it.

I hope the pic is available now for whatever reason it wasn't in my shared folder.
The pic you posted shows the same grounding strap. Yours looks to be not grounded to the exhaust/headers heat shield. Essentially its there to help ground the engine to the frame. |

I still can't see the pic, but that makes sense. I figured it was an engine block ground, but this engine bay is quite a bit "busier" than other cars I've owned, so I wanted to be sure it didn't come loose from something else when I removed my stock air intake. I'll just ground it to somewhere on the exhaust manifold or block and call it good. Thanks again for the follow-up.
