Flywheel/Clutch Upgrades

I couldn't find previous posts on here about flywheels, I may not have looked in the right spot though.
I've seen a few lightweight flywheels for the 370 and was wondering if anyone has done one. A friend of mine with a 350 said that he didn't like the feel of the lightweight flys because in between shifts (even upshifts) the RPMs would drop too low. Anybody got any experience with it or input?

A few people on here have gotten them and liked them.

As far as the revs dropping faster - that's the whole point! It means you can shift faster. My main reason for getting the flywheel (other than overall weight savings) is to allow the revs to drop faster. The way the stock flywheel holds revs is way over the top.

I was looking at the JWT clutch/flywheel combo, any effects on the syncro rev? I plan on going fi soon think it'll hold up?

I know that's the point, what he said was the it dropped excessively fast.
I just spoke with JWT, they've got a clutch that handles 600 hp and a 15 Lb flywheel. I also spoke with Darren at Intense Power, they can get them both for $769, I believe. He said that the revs won't drop as fast as the 350 I was talking about (it probably had a 10 Lb flywheel). Good price and I hate the stock clutch. I had a stage 2 on my last car and this one is way to soft.

No effect on syncro rev.

any one try out the os giken twin plate clutch? How do you think it would hold up with for example a GTM or the Stillen sc kit? Thus far I've only heard about the jwt clutch flywheel or the spec stage 2.

^ I haven't heard of anyone trying that yet, also interested. Considering it comes from OS Giken, I'd say its probably an awesome piece though.

I think GTM did that one sleeper g37 TT making 583hp and they used it, no other word on it though

I really like that i got stillen fly and jwt clutch
only thing i hate. Chattering

NYBladeZ 01-25-2010 06:00 PM

I was thinking of going all jwt, but I'm going to save for the os giken and never have to worry about it again after going fi
