Installing my dual oil catch can setup, need help PLEASE!
Good morning peoples'.... I just need a little help please, ill be installing my dual oil catch can setup tomorro and not exactly able to understand which hose goes where as far as installing both cans???? Its prob something so simple to install but im just not sure where to route hoses TO / FROM cans... I be installing this exact setup (minus the steel braided lines) ( DIY: Dual Oil Catch Cans 370Z ) so.... my 2 questions are:
1. Can someone please explain to me where i need to route my hoses TO / FROM the cans please and..... 2. What size rubber hose to i buy to install these? Thank you very much for any help you can provide me.

To my knowledge there is NOT another company to order these from other then directly from Saikou Michi .... I was told upfront the build time would take at least 7 weeks so its not like i wasnt warned ahead of time. Excellent customer service and the product is EXTREMELY well made.. the powder coat is thick and will last longer then the car. well worth the wait.

I'm not a oil catch can fan.In fact,I think many are just a marketing ploy.
I've had numerous vehicles over the years. Many well over 200k miles. All without a oil catch can. All the ads make you believe they make sense, right? So do electric superchargers. Just sayin |

Saikou Michi Co. Home Go to this website and email the owner, HE IS VERY FAST WITH REPLIES. He will email you back the price of the dual can setup, with options for you to mod anything you want. IIRC I spent a total of ~200$ for both powder coated and with sight bowls to see oil, and drain valves.
**EDIT** He doesnt have the dual catch can setup yet on the site, only a setup for a 350z... all the 370z stuff he will email you.

As the forum porter I hate doing old vehicals parts when the customer doesn't clean out the upper and lower manifolds. The oil and sludge build up is disgusting. Does this kill a motor? No. Of course it could last 200k but at what engine compression and leak down and HP over time?? You are 100% building a film which will decrease the intakes air volume. That's a no argument statement which will lead to lower HP right there. Also, nasty blow by oil vapor sludge getting sucked down into a motor on the wrong side of the piston rings is not where I want nasty blow by oil vapor sludge. That's going to contaminate the crap out of the piston heads, valves, spark plugs and lower the fuels octane. These areas want 100% air and fuel and nothing else! Also that dirty vapor isn't going to keep your cylinder walls clean and keep the rings working as good as they should over time. I've run e85 for a short time. It's amazing to look down into the motor and see the difference in cleanliness after the ethanol eats everything clean. Luckily I've had catch can since day 1 and cleaning the inside of the engine wasn't that hard. However catch cans don't work great. Recently I've switched to an air oil separator and the amounts of caught oil is night and day. Here's a pic of less than 100 miles, maybe 50...
Now add that amount up over 200k that needed to be burnt up where it shouldn't be! There's a reason why on top gear they dyno older cars and they always say "lets see how many horses have escaped". Even after a tune up its still down. I've never seen them gut and engine and clean its parts thoroughly. If you're not going to buy an air oil separator then you need to vent a catch can to atmosphere.

just got off work and installed my dual catch cans.... Install took about 45mins. I bought the car used and it came with the air intakes shown in pic.. those air filters made it VERY HARD to install cans... Their is NO WAY to install this setup if using the factory air boxes as the mounting bracket bolts to the location where the stock boxes bolted too. Will think about getting a different air intake setup at some point, but whats there now is working just fine... Anyways, here is a picture of the finished product. Oh..... also I did not choose to use fancy braided lines and anything "Blingy" I just used 3/8 trans line and the install looks factory.
