2016 Z's Reliability
I am contemplating buying a 370z, but wanted to know how well the 2016's are doing? Do you guys think most of the kinks are worked out by now? I am coming from a 2015 Camaro. (That has issues that GM can't figure out) So, the size difference is going to be strange at first. But, Nissan builds quality cars, so I feel safe with this purchase if I do.

I have a 2013 370z 7AT that has had zero problems in 40000 aggressively driven miles.

2016 370z
The 2016 model is a great car, I myself have one but if you are planning to do any modifications to it think again. It is a little new so parts aren't for sure going to fit. Blind spots you would have on the camaro are almost the same if not a little better, but you will find driving the Z a lot less bulky and more versatile. Hope this helps.

My csc went on my 2016 but a fluid swap or hd csc fixes this. Keep up with maintenance and you wont break anything. The z is overlooked for whatever reason. If you want to mod a 2016 its the same as a 2010, a z34.... I have a nismo and bolt on parts fit fine, I have custom ppe long tubes, an aam y pipe and tomei catback lol, ill let you know how an oil cooler fits in the nismo fascia next week.
Hope this helps :) |
I have a base model 2014 which lacks some extras that come on the sport and nismo. My only gripe is that the base came with an open differential as appose to the LSD in the others. Other than that I picked the car up last September with 126 miles and now have over 8000 miles with no complaints. No comment on CSC, I'm very superstitious.

Other then the above mentioned CSC, basic maintenance and you should be fine.

40,000 miles on my 2009 and so far not a single problem once the steering lock was replaced. The first year Z had a known issue with the steering lock motor. Nissan builds a great car and if taken care of will last. Both on my daughters tried to kill a 1996 Maxima. They finally succeeded when it reached 283,000 miles. The engine still ran fine but the tranny died.
The Z is a fun car to drive and there are LOTS of aftermarket toys to play with. #1 is a FI TDX exhaust! |
Most of the kinks were worked out in 2010 :twocents:
Except the CSC... set aside the funds for replacement asap or replace it before it fails. RJM clutch pedal is a great mod. It would be my very first mod if I had to do it all over again. |
I was on the same boat last year when i picked up my Z. Its a fun, reliable car so far and im at 25k already. Use quality fluids and keep up with maintenance and youll be fine. If you stop by the dealership and read the maintenace schedule provided by Nissan youll notice the Z isnt a high maintenance lady haha. Shes a fairlady indeed. One thing you should really contemplate is the loss of the rear seats...my only gripe with the car at times but i also enjoy when i have the excuse to not give certain people rides. If rear seats are required, get the infinity version.

38,000 miles on my 2011 6MT SP. It's never had a single issue. The only time it's ever seen the shop is for upgrades. I don't baby it, either.

Just wait for the new z35 to come out, hopefully it will be boosted

Mine is a 2014. 11,000 miles. Not a single problem. Driven like a grandpa 50% of the time and like I stole it 50% of the time.

I've got a 2010 with 96k miles. Only problem so far is the steering lock (I believe they've been taken out after 2012), and the CSC. Other than that I've just changed fluids and tires :)

No offense but this is rhetorical question
the forum has been stablished for a few years. If you take that into account along with the fact the 370z is in the end of its cycle, then it is safe to assume all of the short comings have been worked out.
The car came out is 2009 - by 2012 all of the issues were worked out. My advice is read the forum and think logically before you ask a certain question. I mean really? you are asking about the reliability of a 2016 when the car has been out for over 8 years. If it was two years old I can justify your questions, but at this point it is just plainly idiotic. |
