I started looking at different diffs but the Quaife kept coming up, I've mainly heard and read good things about it. I still wasn't quite sure so I asked the manager Mike Hanson @ Whitehead performance in Vaughn Ontario where I get most of my work done . Here's parts of the email he sent me. " I'm not sure about the Quaife diff. In your professional opinion, is the Quaife diff worth it? The better question would be .... Would you put the Quaife diff I your own car ?" He answered this " Yes every single time I have the chance to install a Quaife I would. Especially with 4.08 gears because the tires so in easier with these gears. The vdc is a lot more active with the stock viscous lsd. Having the Quaife reduces wheel spin and vdc intervention improving acceleration. Same holds true with vdc off. Finned Diff cover for better cooling and urethane diff bushings for less diff movement under acceleration are two items we commonly do with a diff upgrade." |
Update
I haven't had time to track it yet but WOW !!! The Quaife & Gears have been in for close to 3 months now (happy happy happy) The car now pulls throughout the whole gear in every gear ! The Quaife is amazing, way less tire spin also I can do a lot more " spirited" driving with the traction control on because the LSD is way less intrusive. I pull away with ease on Stock Mustang GT's and Camaro SS , there's 2 GT's in particular with full B/O's that I'd like to tangle with but haven't had a chance too yet , I'll have to set something up at the test and tune down at the track one night. Out of all my mods the rear diff ones are the ones that gave my Z the most gains and if I'd have to start my build over I'd do the rear diff first!!! The only negative things I have to say are .... Gas mileage went for a **** ...... who cares , I didn't buy this car for gas mileage;) Revmatch is off by 100-200 rpm , its no big deal ( if you heal toe) , I'll see if if my tuner can fix that |
Where did you buy the diff & gears from ? I'm looking to buy the same diff right now & tryna piece everything I need together . I have a 2012 base model which I think comes with the open diff or (peg leg diff) & looking to upgrade

Good Advertising,,,I enjoy speaking with the knowledgable staff & have purchased some parts there; I haven't had any parts installed-but Jon did dyno-tune my car...I hear that they are very competent at installation/engine building! |
