Default Sometimes Push Start doesnt start.

Recently I've been noticing that maybe 1 in every 5 or 10 starts, the car stops at ACC or ON before having to push it in to turn engine. It turns and runs fine besides the fact.
I was thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong and haven't noticed? or maybe something is happening here...?

It checks out just above 14V according to the gauge and the statistic on my OBDII reader.

Make sure you have the clutch pushed in far enough. Sometimes I find myself pushing the clutch in just enough to release the flywheel (like when I shift) but not far enough to register the switch for turning the engine over.

Your charging system is putting out 14v. To check your battery the engine needs to be off.
SouthArk370Z and DEpointfive0 like this.

Try adjusting the clutch switch out a little see if it helps, a battery wouldn't stop your car on acc. The only thing I could see causing that is that its not getting the signal to start, which would be that clutch switch.

I know this sounds dumb, but my muscle memory has me putting on my seatbelt and hitting start at the same time. Foot is on the brake and clutch is pushed all the way in, but sometimes my butt is lifted off the seat a little so I can fit the belt into the lock, and the start button just goes to ACC, and I have to hit it again before the engine starts.

I'm convinced that there's a butt sensor in the driver's seat that won't start the engine if it doesn't think there's a person in the seat.

No there isn't I've started my car without sitting in it. While adjusting the clutch switch I just used my hand to push the pedal down.

Then maybe I'm letting out the clutch just enough during my maneuver to keep the engine from starting.

Yea, I think it has to do with the pedals. I drive a 7AT, and I come across this issue too, believe it or not, when I don't press the brake down hard enough. I like to start my car as I'm adjusting myself in my seat, and sometimes as I'm getting in, I let go of the brake ever so slightly, after I pushed start, and it'll just go straight to ACC!!!

That is presuming of course that you have disabled the steering lock....

Ok, so this is still happening to me every once in a while and is getting on my nerves...
Where exactly is the clutch swtich? if needs replacement, is it cheap? is it simple DIY?

Thanks for any info.
