New to the "Z" world.. Is a "Sprint Booster" worth it??

I just bought a 2012 370z 6 speed manual, has most common bolt ons like CAI, Test pipes, ARC Catback, etc.... Came across a thread here about a "Sprint Booster" and was wondering if this is a worthwhile upgrade or just save the 250$ and put it into a dyno tune at Z1 Motorsports (they are 5 mins from my house  ) Thanks for any opinion you may have...

Save the money and put it towards a dyno tune

This. All the sprint booster does is amplify the signal sent by the pedal. A tune let's you adjust the throttle tables themselves, in addition to a lot more benefits. You can get the same end result without the sprint booster.

Thank you for the fast replies... Ill just save money and put it toward a dyno tune

yep.

Why get both? What's the benefit of amplifying the signal from the pedal when you've already adjusted the curve in the throttle table to take out the lag?

newls196 03-03-2016 04:26 PM

is there any other place to order from if i decide to get this other then here https://www.sprintboostersales.com/

**edit** I went ahead and ordered it :icon14: Ill still have enough for a true dyno tune and what-not, but i hope i feel a difference from this little thing, i hope it gets rid of the sluggish 1st gear lag i feel upon acceleration... Time will tell. Thanks everyone

SprintBooster

I didn't care for it. It definitely increased response in the lower gears, cruising around town. But did not eliminate the lag when hitting "passing gear" on the highway. Like 60-65 mph. I sent it back. They do give you 30 days, and the service was good.
Just my 2 cents.

Edit, just read the Z is already modded......+1 on just getting a tune then.

I have both. When the SB is off, HUGE difference!

Did your tuner spend a lot of time on the throttle table? A lot of them just give it a once over and spend most of their time on afr and timing.

Specialty Z did it in about 3 hours

sprint booster is just a voltage multiplier. it's not a tune in any way. but considering the huge lag in the factory map, it does help close the gap.

just remember dat u will wot about 60-65% in on the pedal.
