I'm running a 7AT and I don't experience this! I do feel a little more power in manual, wether from a stop or as I'm driving, but there never any lag. As soon as I floor it, my Z takes off! Even in auto mode. That sounds like it could be a problem!

its not a problem. just if you drive softer then the ECU will react the same when you finally give it the beans.

So you have to ALWAYS drive it hard if you want it to respond aggressively when you floor it? That kinda sucks... I mean, I have about 10K on mine, and I'd say I cruise it much more often than not, but on particular days, (usually after watching Fast and Furious or playing Need For Speed) I love to drive it hard and it ALWAYS responds accordingly. I'd hate to have to train my ECU to always be on the edge... /:

no you dont have to always drive it hard lol geez that would result in so many tickets lol

i DD mine so typically the top speed i hit going to and from work is 60ish on 2 stretches. i dont even use highways for my commute.

but there's times where i lay into it and shift at high rpm and launches etc.

also i have some nice curvy backroads where i live so i hit those in a "spirited" fashion lol

When you start driving hard, the car recognizes this and switches mode. You don't have to drive hard all the time. Shortly after you start driving "normally", the car switches back.
