CSC is going out (maybe), have a few questions.
One day I was driving and accelerated somewhat hard (not 100% throttle though), and then the clutch stopped giving me resistance at the top. Before this happened I got clutch resistance at almost the very start of pushing down the pedal, but after it didn't give resistance until about half way down. I also was then required to push the clutch all the way down to change gears.
After a few days the clutch went back to normal. I checked the clutch fluid which was fine just to be sure. I've been trying to read up on it and it seems the consensus is that my CSC is going out. I'd love to know if the more mechanically inclined of you agree that it sounds like it's the CSC. If so I'm wanting to get it replaced with one of the aftermarket ones (probably the z1 csc delete kit) and wanted to know what all I need to replace with it if I'm going to be paying someone to replace the CSC. I'm going to be paying someone to do this (a technician in a dealership my brother runs (not a Nissan dealership)) and wanted to know what all would make sense to replace. I've read that replacing the clutch along with the CSC is a good idea. My car only has 29k miles on it (I've only owned it for the last 5k), so would replacing the flywheel along with it make sense? Master cylinder? Anything else? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I understand how a lot of these parts work, but I don't feel comfortable working on it myself and am definitely not an expert on things needing to be replaced along with the CSC. |

CMC and MC for sure if you're in there. A lot of people upgrade the clutch since they're in there too but not necessary. Good luck!

Did the pedal ever go all to the way to the floor and not return, or does it act "normal" after you pump it a few times? Both of those are typical symptoms of the csc dying. Also, Id go for a z speed heavy duty csc and a new master cylinder. The OEM one is plastic, the zspeed one is metal. Makes sense to put plastic in an inaccessible, hot, high pressure, critical failure application, huh Nissan....
