Whining from new Oil Cooler

Just finished installing my Fast Intentions 34 row Oil Cooler and noticed the whining noise other people have complained about when I drove the car. Sounds like a bad power steering pump. Volume is relative to RPM's. At idle it is very faint but during driving it gets louder. Anyone know what this is? Does everyone with this kit get this noise and is there anything I can do to quiet it down? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Mine makes the same noise and it bothers me as well. Don't think it is specific to the FI kit either.

Thanks man! I have read that thread already and others too. Seems to me like it's coming from the sandwich plate area caused from the fluid circulating through it but I don't know yet. Should be installing my exhaust in a few weeks so I'm going to inspect everything again when I do that. Did you do this "fix?"

Mine does it too. It only does it when the oil is 170 or above. So, it is only when my thermostatic plate opens up. Doesn't bother me.

I haven't yet but it is on my to do list. With the exhaust and everything its not that loud. It only bugs me when I am trying to make videos and have my gopro mounted on my front bumper.

Thanks for responding. I was expecting some noise from reading the threads of complaints but wasn't ready for how loud and annoying it is for me.

Yea without a exhaust I am sure it is very noticeable. My car is due for a oil change soon so I think I am going to try wrapping some of the lines then.

Should have my FI exhaust in a couple weeks! And it's Non-Res...

My experience is that anywhere the cooler lines touch the body, it will amplify the whine. I was able to pad mine in several areas and make the noise better. I can hear it 'cause I know it is there. I have never had a passenger point it out to me.

If you are getting under the car...try to pad wherever there is a touch point.

Thank you. I will be doing this when I install the exhaust and re-inspect everything
